How We Renovate Bathrooms in Brisbane’s Northside
Based in Brendale and renovating since 2004, we’ve refined our process to make bathroom renovations as smooth and predictable as possible. We handle the coordination of trades, materials, waterproofing, tiling and fixtures, so you only deal with one trusted local team.
You’ll know:
What’s happening each week
Who will be on site
When key stages like demolition, waterproofing and tiling will take place
Our goal is simple – a bathroom that looks great, functions well and is built to last.
Our processes

1
Initial Chat and Measure & Quote
Every renovation starts with a conversation. We’ll chat with you about what you want to change, how you use the space and what you’re hoping to achieve with your new bathroom, ensuite or laundry.
As part of our free measure & quote:
We visit your home and inspect the existing room
Take accurate measurements of the space
Discuss design ideas, layout options and any constraints
Talk through your budget and priorities
Identify any visible structural or plumbing considerations
From there, we prepare a detailed quote outlining the scope of work so you know exactly what’s included.

2
Design, Layout and Selections
Once you’re happy to move ahead, we refine the design and plan the details. This stage is where your new bathroom really starts to take shape.
We help with:
Layout recommendations (shower, bath, vanity and toilet placement)
Tile size, colour and layout suggestions
Advice on fixtures such as taps, shower heads, toilets and vanities
Practical considerations like storage, lighting and ventilation
Because Bruno is a qualified tiler, you’ll get advice that’s not only stylish but also practical and achievable on site. We make sure the design works in real life, not just in a picture.

3
Scheduling and Preparation
Once the design, layout and quote are confirmed, we lock in dates and prepare for the renovation.
This includes:
Confirming start date and approximate timeline
Coordinating trades and deliveries
Discussing access, parking and any special requirements for your home
Going through what to expect during demolition and build
We’ll also talk through how the renovation might impact your day-to-day routine and what we can do to minimise disruption, especially if it’s your only bathroom.

4
Demolition and Rough-In
With everything scheduled, we carefully strip out the old bathroom. This is where we remove tiles, fixtures, old waterproofing and anything that needs replacing.
We then:
Inspect the underlying structure for any damage or issues
Make any necessary repairs to walls, floors or framing
Carry out plumbing and electrical rough-in according to the new layout
This stage sets the foundation for a quality finish, so we take the time to get it right before any new surfaces go in.

5
Waterproofing and Tiling
Quality waterproofing and tiling are at the heart of every Diaz bathroom. This is where Bruno’s experience as a qualified tiler really shows.
We:
Apply waterproofing to Australian and Queensland standards
Allow proper curing time
Set out tile lines for a balanced, symmetrical look
Lay floor and wall tiles with correct falls to the waste
Lay floor and wall tiles with correct falls to the waste
Straight tiles, neat grout lines and clean joints don’t happen by accident – they’re the result of careful planning and experienced hands.

6
Fit-Off, Fixtures and Finishing Touches
Once the tiling is complete, we move into fit-off and finishes. This is when your new bathroom really comes together.
We install:
Vanities, basins and benchtops
Showerscreens and taps
Baths, toilets and accessories
Mirrors, shelving and towel rails
Lighting and electrical fittings (by licensed trades)
Final touches like silicone, paint touch-ups and caulking are completed with the same attention to detail as the main build. We want your bathroom to look good up close, not just from a distance.

7
Clean-Up, Handover and After-Support
Before we hand the bathroom back to you, we carry out a detailed clean and final check.
At handover:
We walk you through the finished bathroom
Highlight key features and any care instructions
Confirm you’re happy with the result
Answer questions about cleaning, maintenance and warranties
If anything needs adjusting after you’ve started using the bathroom, we’re only a phone call away. Our reputation is built on long-lasting relationships, not just getting to the end of the job.
